WEDDINGS
I want you to enjoy meeting with me to talk through the possibilities for your special day and draw up a plan so that, together, we arrive at a seamless ceremony that suits your style.

How can I do this?

  • By listening carefully as you chat about your hopes and dreams, the special times you’ve had together, your taste in music and readings.
  • By suggesting ways in which you can incorporate your family and friends in your ceremony or choose to keep things simple with just you as the focus.
  • By contributing my resources as required, e.g. my amplifier system, my table with ivory damask cloth and chair for signing, my extensive folder of readings to select from, my three-pronged candelabra for candles.
  • By keeping up communication by phone/email as the plan develops.
  • By being prepared to accommodate your cultural mix in wedding rites.
  • By offering a rehearsal prior to the ceremony.

You need to lodge the Notice of Intended Marriage with me at least a month before your wedding. This can be done in person or posted. However, the earlier we meet, the better your understanding of what is needed to prepare for your day.

This meeting can be a stimulating session where we toss around ideas for that personal ceremony you are looking for and you can go away to discuss the possibilities and perhaps write your own story or vows for the occasion while I prepare a draft based on the ideas so far.

This first meeting can be face to face or, if distance proves a constraint, be by phone, but we need to meet at least once before the day, perhaps at the venue, to fine-tune the logistics of the ceremony and help participants to be able to face the day with confidence.

On the day, I arrive at the venue at least half an hour before the ceremony to set things up and check with participants that all is well. After the ceremony the couple is presented with their marriage certificate and a bound copy of the ceremony. Within a few days I send the official paperwork to the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages.

The aim is that your wedding should be a significant, enjoyable and memorable occasion.

I also like to help you celebrate other important events in your life.

And whatever else you decide is worth celebrating.
